Originally known as Amargue, Bachata emerged from the countryside of the Dominican Republic in the 1960’s. Bachata is a simple 4 step dance that features a sensual moving of the hips. The music has just recently gained more popularity due to the efforts of musicians such as Juan Luis Guerra, who won a Grammy for Bachata Rosa. |
